OPS-COM links LPR for parking, violation and incident management

Carleton Place, ON:

Ontario-based Tomahawk Technologies Inc. is excited to announce the release ofย License Plate Recognition (LPR) module. Now included inย its existing parking and security software platform OperationsCommander or (OPS-COM).

Most noteworthy of OPS-COM is that it consists of ParkAdmin, IncidentAdmin, and ViolationAdmin. Furthermore, the technology, which will be available in May, provides the hardware and software necessary for an efficient enforcement solution with virtual or traditional permitting. With full integration, the software can record permits and identify vehicles. Now that same software is used for LPR enforcement.

What LPR will mean for OPS-COM

โ€œWe think the industry is going to appreciate the simplicity of our ALPRย product,โ€ says Robin Mulloy, Senior Team Lead at OPS-COM. “It captures the camera data, then analyzes and cross-references it with OPS-COM permit, violation and security data. It creates the notifications for your teams.

No need for data manipulation, APIs or pulling data from one source to another. The same functionality is also available in the handheld enforcement. As a result, you have a system that pulls information into a single source. This reduces complications, increases usability for organizations and offers enhanced functionality. Our parking and security software platform offersย a complete package.โ€

OPS-COM utilizes Tomahawk Technologies Inc. own โ€œPL8RDRโ€ technology which acts as a processing center for the ALPR module and supports a 4G and Wifi connection. As a result, OPS-COM LPR cameras are vehicle mounted or used at fixed locations.ย

In addition, the system analyzes all license plate data using the cloud-based OPS-COM platform. This data provides information on each vehicle. This can confirm where a vehicle can park, if there are outstanding fines, or if the vehicle has other flags or notices relevant to security.

Therefore, Tomahawk has created a one system tool for parking enforcement and security.

โ€œOur team is currently looking for a few more parking operations who would be interested in field testing our LPR system for a fixed lot or parking garage,โ€ added Phil MacCallum, OPS-COM Business Development Manager. โ€œSince we want to be able to share more specific data about the effectiveness of the system within the industry, we need a few organizations who want to be among the first to use the system. Currently, we are looking at a 98% read rate which is good.  Therefore higher percentages mean higher recognized plates, which is what organizations want.โ€
